Upon arriving and obtaining my Games Pass, I ventured into the main media centre, only to be greeted by an unexpected sight. Familiar faces among the Spanish athletes were preparing for a press conference, and to my surprise, one of them was none other than Rafael Nadal, the clay-court maestro known for his fierce dominance on the court.
The image of Nadal, with his headband and powerful serves, instantly brought back memories of his legendary performances at Roland Garros. Yet, the Nadal before me was a different person altogether. With his neatly combed hair and a warm, inviting smile, he exuded a calm and friendly demeanor. Alongside Nadal were Spain’s Olympic team captain David Ferrer and the rising star Carlos Alcaraz. They were poised to address the press, and their responses were delivered with both grace and precision.
Jose Luis, a sports reporter from Eurosport, took on the role of interpreter during the conference, facilitating the interaction between the athletes and the journalists.
